Shadow Yard

A shadow yard is really train storage tracks, typically hidden on a lower level. In this video (below) I explain what all the tracks in the train layout work and are intended for. How the length of the tracks is linked to the train lengths that the track plan is designed for.

The shadow station is then most easily controlled from a suitable App (software) such as RocRail, Itrain or JMRI. Monitoring is easiest done with a webcam or equivalent.
